but, which dashkit do you have? one with the little pocket, or the one that centers the radio?
Either kit mounts with 4 screws, so the kit should not be loose and floppy like the old square CF2 dashkits in chryslers that typically only held with two screws on weird tabs.
One of the rounded dashkits mounts using the din cage. The other one can be used with the din-cage,OR you can isomount the radio, even stronger. or do both if you get crafty. Skipping should not be any issue in that car until you are well past 150dB.
Ipods & USB don't skip.

My old Pioneer headunit didn't start to skip till 153 db's @ 48 Hz.
