I'm going to install a new stereo a friend's 2002 Lincoln Continental this spring and we're going to start with two US 2000X for power. Now I know these are considered old-school and they devour a bunch of current, so are they really worth the effort as a daily street pounder or am I better off with something newer and more efficient? One of my friends has a broken 2000X so maybe I can even convince my friend to start with three 2000Xs.

We already have heavy-duty brakes installed in all four corners and heavy-duty rear springs are going in after the install, we're also looking at a big alternator and at least 4 batteries if we use two amps, but I know one 2000X can drop voltage to below 11v across two batteries. Any opinions as far as running the 2000X so it'll be fat and happy?

Oops I got it mixed up, can an admin move this to the amp section? Thanks.
