Been checking these out lately and am wondering if they really can handle the 3000 watts rms they claim?

you posted the same exact picture twice. I'm sure they can probably handle a LANZAR 3kW amp. LOL.

My wife won her MECA Drive By World Title in 2008 with two of the Lanzar 1535's and 1 lanzar 6000d. Now personally I haven't tried the 1533's but I have seen them in action and they rock for the money.

I will be running 2 of the 1533's when I get the money. I have a team mate running two of them and she loves them compared to the 1535's.
