So tell me what you guys think. I've got a hissing noise coming from my subs at 0 volume. I've moved to cones and checked for noise coming from the voice coils but there's no sound. However, when moving one of the cones the frequency of the hissing/whirring noise changed and almost sounded like a geiger counter kinda. Seems to me that what's happening is the loads's chaning when I move to coil. Past experience tells me it's a bad rectifier and possibly the power supply may be going bad. It's never overheated and it's not starved for power. It's never seen anything below 12V. Any input?

Hissing could be simply gain to high.
Also, check your crossover points.
Ohm load will change as you move the coli. That is normal.

I haven't touched the gains in 3 months Walt. It just started doing this last nite. Same with the crossover points. I've had an amp in the past that when I moved the coil and the load changed it would make the frequency/whirring noise I was hearing go up. Hope it's not the amp though cause I gots no back up for this weekend dude. Really wanted to get back in the lanes this weekend.
