To the top again, lets see if any manufactures have taken the hint about people needing a 4" coiled neo subwoofer.
... all 4" coils are 2 or 4 layer coils vs a 3" 8 layer coil. Where the advantage?
Not to start something here ,
but not All 4" coils are 2 or 4 layer coils ...

It all depends on how its builded up ,
and yes 4" coils can get loud to ..
Even if it's an 8 layer 4" coil - it will not be louder and/or take power better than a 3" coil. What's louder or can handle more if you can't get them together......
I dont like to "discuss" A and B to go to C , i am not here for discussion

Just liked to clear the sky where there where clouds
Then why post? I mean after all your not here for discussion.

cactus had in his SS1-2 terra 2 weeks ago
20kw on 1 coil
he only used 1 off the 2 coils due to wrong impedance

i think its pretty impressive for a 4" coil to take that
The one and only , back for more !!!!

Been some time since I made this thread and it has been good we see some manufactures listening. Someone needs to make a list or do a test between them all.

I have been working on a 4" coil Neo for a while -- just haven't gotten around to fully assembling it yet.

Don , to what i see the topplate just go's on inside the basket . ( some TC style subs got this also , just dont remember the type )
So perfect centered and normal style coil
54mm is still a tall (and heavy) coil, especially for an 8 layer, and especially for a 4". For christ sake, that coil weighs almost exactly 5X more than a stock 35mm tall 3" round wound (with same AWG windings)! Would take a heck of a thermal beating tho!
